Great place to take your child if they are struggling with depression/ anxiety. Not only do they provide your child with a safe, nurturing environment, they provide them with the coping tools they will need when they get out. The parents classes helped us connect and talk with other parents that had been dealing with the same problems at home. They also brought in guest speakers that helped to prepare the parent on how to deal and interact with their child once they had completed the program. I would highly recommend Newport to anyone that feels hopeless and wants to give their child a new start in life.

The staff has been so wonderful working with our insurance to help our daughter with her stay at the Academy. I have had updates the last two nights, since she was admitted, about how she is settling in. I miss my baby, but I am so glad she in the hands of these professionals. After two months of research with an addiction specialist, only two places in the United States of America were recommended as having a strong discharge plan following a strong inpatient plan, so that is why I am trusting this team to help my beautiful and wonderful teenager.

5.0 star rating 1/29/2014 My son entered Newport Academy in Oct of 2013 at the recommendation of his Psychologist, Dr Andrew Casey (THANK YOU ANDREW!!!!!) . He has given me permission to share about our experience. I live in Hawaii and had no idea where to turn or where to send my son for the best help available. Time was running out because he would soon turn 18 years old. It was a scary decision to have to make, however... there is no doubt in my mind that Newport Academy was absolutely the BEST place my son could have ever gone... for him as well as for me. I was given the best counseling and encouragement, education and hand holding that I could have asked for. The staff is amazing from the Cook (1st class food for sure!!!) to the Care Coordinators (guys in the home 24 hours a day), to the Counselors, Therapists, Nurses, Teachers, Coaches, Yoga Instructors, Horses, and Insurance Negotiators. Even the owner Jamison Monroe took time to talk with me and answer my questions and concerns. I just can't say enough! The boy's home has a peaceful feeling about it. The kids are treated with respect and the utmost care. The Therapists know exactly how to address deep issues in a healthy way. My son and I were able to work through years of difficult issues in a few short weeks. I was able to rest knowing he was in good hands. The program was intense and went deep into the core of the issues that led to my son's alcohol and drug abuse. They taught him to look for triggers and to understand the impact they have on his relationships. He was taught to take responsibility for his "stuff". He reconnected with God through the 12 step program of AA. I watched my son grow up, right in front of my eyes. My husband said that he would not have believed the changes he witnessed, had he not attended the "family intensive" himself! This was another huge step in rebuilding relationship within our family. My son graduated after 80 days of residential care and has transitioned into Newport Academy's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), where he attends their Sober High (school) while living at Ohio House (sober living). The Newport staff assisted me in making the important decision about the next step before he even left the residential program. The change-over occurred on New Year's Eve and was seamless! I couldn't have done any of this without their support and guidance. Without a doubt, Newport Academy is a top notch, 1st class Adolescent Drug Rehab Facility. Clearly the best in the Nation as far as I am concerned.
